A Year in the Life of a Keswick Bike Shop

What a year we’ve had at KMB, we could almost write a book about it! Here’s an extremely brief version instead…

Last year’s flooding, when we had lots of water through the ground floor of the shop (a first by the way, this had never happened previously) was a real shock. We were incredibly grateful for all the help we received from friends and neighbours during the clear up and the continued support of our customers as we repaired the damage at KMB Towers. In the end, however, the shop should be a lot more resilient to future floods. One of the key elements to this was the need to replace our computer. However, we were not able to recover all the information from our previous system and we still need your help in updating emails and mobile phones as well as addresses etc. Please take a moment to update your email in the footer of this page (Newsletter Sign Up).

Some of you will have noticed some new faces at the KMB counter and a couple of well-known regulars missing. Andy P, KMB company director, retired in June and long time mechanic, Darren M, changed career direction after over 20 years in the cycle trade to drive for Stagecoach. You can find out about some of the new members of staff on our website.

Our Keswick Bikes race team were very active throughout the year with their distinctive KMB green attire with some notable achievements by Chris Hope & Johnny Hume in XC, John Galway in CX, Adam Beaty, Jason Shill & Tiree Taylor in DH. You can find out more about all of them on the Keswick Bikes Facebook page and, better still, we need your help by liking and sharing the shop page with your friends.

Many thanks for making our 2016 such a remarkable year.

We hope to see you soon.
