As part of the Governements Green Transport Plan and National Cycling Strategy to promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution, organisations can take advantage of an exemption to implement a Cycle to Work scheme that encourages employees to cycle to work and allows employers to reap the benefits of a healthier workforce, and save National insurance contributions.
Cyclescheme and Boost are working with Keswick bikes to supply you with quality tax free bikes and equipment for work. It's a no-hassle, tax free way of getting bikes for employees.

Here's a quick summary:
Cycle to Work schemes must be set-up by employers
*Employees can purchase any make or model of bike up to £1000
Bikes are purchased by the employer and "loaned" to staff
When the employer purchases the bike they reclaim VAT
Staff repay the cost of the bike through their pay packet
Because staff are not paying VAT on the bike or national insurance or PAYE on the part of their salary used to repay the bike loan they are making savings of up to 50% on the cost of the bike
Actual savings will be dependent upon how much tax each employee pays plus how much VAT the employer can reclaim
At the end of the bike loan period the employer usually allows the employee to purchase the bike and take full ownership
Schemes are not currently available in Republic of Ireland
